Kayaks are boats which are driven with a double paddle while sitting in the direction of travel. Originally these fast and agiles boats have been used by the eskimos for hunting. Today they offer you the best way to move if you love nature. You can enjoy the closeness to nature and the direct contact with the surface of the sea without any prior knowledge of this sport.
Before you really get started, you will learn everything you need to know about the kayak tour in the port of Funchal. We will give you tips and show you tricks for the right maneuvers. Then we drive together by car to the Garajau Nature Reserve. From here we paddle for about 40 minutes to our destination in Lazareto. There you can take a well-deserved break on the beautiful pebble beach. The area is surrounded by bizarre rocks. As this is a marine reserve, boats and fishing are prohibited. You can discover Madeira's native marine life while snorkeling in the crystal clear waters. In case of bad weather, you are in good hands in the safe kayak and can explore the sea from there. If you are feeling adventurous, you can jump down from the jumping rock before we paddle back to Garajau and from there drive back to Funchal with many beautiful memories and photos in our luggage.
