Here the island is crossed over the Encumeada Pass and the Paul da Serra plateau to the north side. A stop is made in the "fairy forest" Fanal, with the oldest and largest laurel trees on the island.

On the north coast you will then experience the lava pools and the black sand beach of Seixal and the town of São Vicente, before heading back to Funchal.

This tour goes from Funchal to the west of Madeira. After a stop at Cabo Girão, where you can look through the glass skywalk into the Atlantic Ocean, which is almost 600 meters below you, you continue to Ribeira Brava and the Encumeada Pass, from where you can enjoy a view of the north and the south coast, as this is the narrowest part of the island.

Via Ribeira da Janela it goes to Porto Moniz, where the famous lava pools are located. Along the coast you reach Ponta do Pargo, the westernmost point of the island with its famous lighthouse. From here you have breathtaking views over the west coast. The way back is via Ponta do Sol, the highlight here is the drive through a waterfall that pours directly onto the road.

From Funchal it goes steeply uphill to the summit of the third highest mountain on the island, the Pico do Arieiro. From here you have fantastic views of the Madeiran mountains. We continue through the laurel forest to Santana, the place with the famous "roof houses".

Via Porto da Cruz with the eye-catching Eagle Rock and Machico, Madeira's oldest city, you get to the eastern tip of the island: the Ponta São Lourenço. Here you will experience a whole new Madeira. Instead of green forests, you will find almost completely vegetation-free red and brown lava rock. Bizarre rock formations tower up off the coast. Then it's back via Santa Cruz, a small town with a cozy town center and a beautiful promenade.
