The small electric vehicles that are reminiscent of toy cars are Renault Twizy's with automatic transmission. They are easy to drive and perfect for the often narrow streets of Madeira.
They have a range of 100 km, but can be charged for free in several restaurants, bars, museums and viewpoints on the island. They reach a top speed of 90 km/h and have a stable road holding thanks to their solid suspension.
When you rent, you will receive an application (available offline) with tour suggestions and the charging stations that you can download to your mobile phone. There is a holder for your phone and a charging cable in the car. The tours lead you e.g. to the picturesque fishing village Camara de Lobos, Funchal City, Monte, viewpoints or to the Christ statue in Garajau.
There are special offers for groups. Here a tour guide drives ahead, who is connected to the other vehicles by a radio system and gives explanations about the individual places and the sights during the tour. Prices for this on request.
